The largest collection of pictures by Alexander Williams on public display is to be found at the Lake Hotel, Killarney, where he often stayed, painting the beautiful scenery and becoming friends with the owners, the Hilliard family. The Irish Times commented on 'the softness of his paintings capturing the moisture-laden atmosphere of Ireland,' of which 'Dingle Bay at Ventry' is a good example. |
